GNOME Shell to change the theme for the first time
step 1
- Download a special theme GNOME Shell. Make sure that the theme you download the version of GNOME Shell installed on your Ubuntu. If the GNOME Shell is installed is version 3.2, then you should find a suitable theme for GNOME Shell 3.2.
- Extract the downloaded file, usually formatted. Zip
- Once extracted, you will see a main folder of the theme. The contents of the main folder there is a folder again, the gnome-shell.
- Rename this folder to gnome-shell theme.

- Press Alt-F2 to bring up the run, and type gksu nautilus then Enter.
- After an open Nautilus, browse to the folder / usr / share / gnome-shell /.
- Then you will see a folder within a folder named theme gnome-shell. Rename the theme folder into theme_old (for backup).
- After successfully changing the name of the theme into theme_old, then copy an existing theme folder into the folder in Step 1 gnome-shell.
- Press Alt-F2 and type r and press Enter to refresh GNOME Shell.
- If the way you are correct, the GNOME Shell you will soon change its looks.
