How A Touchscreen Display Work?

Touchscreen technology works the way the eye, simple and reacts when you touch it if it’s just a little? If it is a computing device or mobile phone, the best answer is a touchscreen display. This technology is not new because it has been created since 1971 and has been widely used in the era of the 90s, but the technology was constantly evolving and is still very attractive for further study.

Any Touchscreen Technology?

Touchscreen technology continues to evolve over time. If once the technology is patented by certain parties, in the 1980′s about the patent has expired and this technology became public property freely developed. Therefore, the technology is pretty much developed to meet various needs.

Currently touchscreen devices are not only used on any computer. Cars, motorcycles, mobile phones, PDAs, game consoles, heavy machinery, aircraft, and many more devices are equipped with touchscreen today.

How A Touchscreen Display Work?

How it works is actually very simple touchscreen display, but also quite substantial. A touchscreen is the simplest consists of three main components of the work. Components are as follows:

A. Touch Sensor

Touch sensor is an outer layer of the receiver input of the monitor. Input from the touch screen is a touch, and therefore the sensor is also a touch sensor. Usually in the form of a touch sensor panel of glass whose surface is very responsive to the touch. Touch sensors are placed at the front surface of a touchscreen display, so that is responsive to the touch area covered viewing area of the monitor screen. That is why when you touch the surface of the monitor screen, the input has also been given by you. Touch sensor technology that is now being used consists of three kinds, as described above, namely Resistive touchscreen, touchscreen Capasitive, and Surface wave touchscreen. All of these sensor types have a way of working together, that is capturing changes in currents and electrical signals on the sensor, record it and turn it into coordinate points that are above the screen, so the exact position of a touch can be directly determined by properly .

2. Controller

Controller is a device used to connect the sensor to a computer device that will process these sentuhansentuhan. When the sensors record a touch event, then the data it has transmitted to a controller. The controller will then carry out the translation of information from sensors into information understandable by a computer processor. Once information is entered and processed by the processor, then the end result will be issued again to the monitor for display. Back controller on duty to translate the information from the processor to be converted into a form of the image displayed on the monitor screen.

3. Software driver

Software driver that is installed on the device controller or PC computer whose job is to arrange for a touchscreen device and a computer can work together to use in a variety of purposes. Software driver will set the device of a computer operating system how to handle events from the touch sensors on the touchscreen display. Most of the touchscreen driver is now using the driver that is similar to a mouse driver. This will create an even touch on one point on the screen like a mouse click on the event in the same position. By using the mouse driver from the device, then the program developer does not need to bother to think of how the program can interact with a touchscreen.

If you want to feel the touch screen but do not have a PDA or TabletPC, go to the malls or to the collection of ATM machines. There you will find a very precise touchscreen applications. Bookmark directories or advertising campaign at the mall you can access by touching your finger on a big screen. Or if you just want to transfer money without taking the money in cash, is currently widely available ATM machine with a touchscreen. All of that is intended to allow you to interact with computers, so that the information sought to be quickly delivered.
